Grace and Jacob is a feltmaking and creative textiles studio based in the beautiful city of York, which houses the Quilt and Textiles Museum, many art galleries and museums.

Grace and Jacob is a working studio and small business. Fiona Hirst, who is a felt maker and textile artist, has her studio here and we run a small (but perfectly formed!) shop selling supplies and finished pieces of work, handmade cards, kits and gifts.
Our aim is to encourage creativity and sell supplies for feltmaking, spinning, mixed media and textiles. We support other artists and designer-makers and stock work by them, and we have a personal relationship with everyone whose work we display. If you want something in particular ask us, and we will do our best to source it for you
The shop stocks fabric by Amy Butler, Heather Bailey and other free spirit designers and also has East of India ribbon, rick rack braid and vintage fabric and buttons. We also stock spinning and felting supplies, including our own hand dyed tops, merino,shetland and blue faced leicester, and lots of hand dyed silk for colour and texture in felt, spinning and embroidery.
